Lead Cloud Architect

TransVoyant is seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Architect with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced Agile development environment. The ideal candidate will be able to immediately manage our existing infrastructure and begin understanding future requirements and direction in order to help our team design the next generation infrastructure. In this position, team work and self-direction are both essential. Working with technical and business leadership while providing leadership with your own expertise is the key to success.


  • Maintain and evolve current AWS infrastructure according to best practices
  • Propose improvements to reduce costs, strengthen security, and meet compliance requirements
  • Work with a mindset toward automating everything
  • Build and manage Docker ecosystems
  • Design and implement improved, next-generation AWS cloud infrastructure to support our increasing demands, compliance, and data requirements
  • Participate in auditing of environments to ensure compliance and suggest improvements

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field of study  
  • 5+ years’ experience administering or working extensively in Linux-based environments
  • 5+ years’ experience in infrastructure / architecture design
  • Extensive experience with AWS technologies (VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, EMR, ELB, Route 53, CloudFormation, command line API)
  • Extensive experience with Linux command line, common tools, deployment within AWS
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and associated orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm)
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible (desired), Chef, or Puppet
  • Strong knowledge of continuous deployment, management, and troubleshooting Java-based applications
  • Experience managing and securing RDBMS systems (PostgreSQL in RDS preferred)
  • AWS Associate Certifications
  • Experience working in an Agile software development methodology including scoping and estimating epics and stories
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Able to work in a highly dynamic, deadline driven environment
  • Able to balance roles of team player, technical owner, and leader

Desired Skills

  • Previous software development experience
  • Familiarity with Kafka
  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK) stack
  • AWS Professional Certifications
  • ISC2 Certifications such as CISSP
  • Experience implementing systems compliant with NIST 800-53 / ISO 27001 requirements
